At Pak-Pro, sustainability isn’t just something we talk about — it’s something we actively grow.

This Earth Day, members of our team had the privilege of partnering with a local elementary school in Toccoa, Georgia, as part of the Trees Into Cartons, Cartons Into Trees (TICCIT) program through the Paperboard Packaging Council.

Children in a classroom learning about the TICCIT program.

The mission was simple but powerful: help third-grade students understand how paperboard packaging connects to forests, recycling, and the environment — and send each student home with a tree sapling to plant in their own community.

Investing in Our Community

As a company rooted in manufacturing, Pak-Pro believes our responsibility extends beyond producing high-quality folding cartons. Being part of the Toccoa community means investing in education, supporting local families, and helping young students understand how industry and environmental stewardship work together.

Programs like TICCIT allow us to connect our daily work to a bigger purpose — showing students that manufacturing careers and sustainability go hand in hand.

Why Sustainability Matters to Pak-Pro

Sustainability is fundamental to paperboard packaging and to the future of our business.

Paperboard cartons are:

  • Made from renewable resources
  • Widely recyclable
  • Part of a responsibly managed forest cycle
  • Designed to reduce environmental impact while protecting products

Participating in TICCIT reinforces what we believe as a company: responsible packaging supports both economic growth and environmental health.

Growing the Next Generation

Earth Day reminds us that sustainability is not a single initiative — it’s a long-term commitment.

By placing saplings in the hands of third-grade students, we’re helping grow future forests, future communities, and future leaders who understand the value of renewable materials and thoughtful manufacturing.

We’re proud to partner with the Paperboard Packaging Council and grateful for the opportunity to spend the day learning alongside students in Toccoa.

“It was truly a blessing to be a part of this and see the excitement on each child’s face, especially when they ask me if there were worms in the dirt!” – Donna, Accounts Receivable Clerk

Because every carton starts with a tree — and every tree helps grow a better future.
