Beverage Multipack Cartons and Paperboard Beverage Packaging

Beverage brands compete on the shelf as a unit, not as a single container. The multipack is what the customer sees first, what carries the brand at distance, and what has to survive a supply chain built for weight and moisture.

Pak-Pro produces beverage multipack cartons, sleeves, and trays in paperboard for refrigerated, shelf-stable, frozen, and alcohol categories. Everything we produce for beverages is paperboard — we don’t work in plastic rings or top formats.

Multipack Cartons, Sleeves, and Trays

Our beverage work covers enclosed multipack cartons that fully surround the product, basket-style formats with integrated handles, sleeves that wrap a grouped set while leaving containers visible, and trays for bulk and secondary distribution.

Format selection usually comes down to how the product is merchandised and how much of the container the brand wants seen. An enclosed carton maximizes printable surface and brand control. A sleeve or tray keeps the primary container visible while grouping the set. Our design team handles structural design and CAD, and we produce printed mockups before a production run so the sample matches what reaches the shelf.

What Types of Packaging Are Used for Beverages?

Beverage packaging divides into primary packaging that holds the liquid and secondary packaging that groups and protects those containers. Primary packaging includes cans, glass and PET bottles, pouches, and gable-top or aseptic liquid cartons. Secondary packaging includes multipack cartons, sleeves, trays, and shipping cases, and it is where most of a beverage brand’s shelf presence is built.

Pak-Pro produces secondary beverage packaging in paperboard. Multipack cartons fully enclose a grouped set and provide the largest printable surface. Basket-style formats add an integrated handle for carrying. Sleeves band a set while leaving the primary container visible, which suits brands whose can or bottle graphics do the selling. Trays support bulk and club distribution and serve as display-ready units. The choice depends on the merchandising channel, how much container visibility the brand wants, and the moisture and temperature conditions the pack moves through.

Refrigerated, Frozen, and Shelf-Stable Performance

Cold-chain beverage packaging faces conditions dry goods never encounter. Condensation in refrigerated cases, temperature cycling between storage and display, and moisture absorption that weakens board strength at exactly the points that are carrying the most load.

We produce for refrigerated and frozen applications as well as shelf-stable, selecting substrates and coatings based on the conditions a pack actually moves through.

Variety Packs for Alcohol Brands

Variety packs create a production challenge most single-SKU beverage packaging avoids: multiple flavor or product graphics within one structure, each printed to the same color standard, assembled into a pack that reads as a single brand. We produce variety pack cartons for alcohol brands, including hard seltzer and other multi-flavor categories.

Seasonal and limited-run programs are common in this category. Our in-house design and prototyping means a seasonal variety pack moves from concept through mockup to production without files changing hands between vendors.

Paperboard Instead of Plastic

Paperboard multipacks are recyclable, and we provide the verification documentation brands need to apply recyclability marks to their packaging. Roughly 95% of the materials we process are recyclable, and our recycling programs cover paperboard, inks, and coatings.
